Rights of Victims of Crimes against Sexual Freedom and Human Dignity / Law 360 of 1997
At Clínica del Campestre, we respect the law and, along with it, the rights of individuals who are victims of sexual crimes and crimes against human dignity.
According to the regulation, victims of these crimes have the right to receive dignified treatment during medical assessments, receive professional guidance, and undergo a free examination, including necessary treatment for the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS.
Law 1146 of 2007 establishes that the General System of Social Security in Health, both public and private, as well as public hospitals and healthcare centers, are obliged to provide comprehensive and urgent care to sexually abused children and adolescents.
The rights of the victims are as follows:
- To be treated with dignity, privacy, and respect during any interview or action for medical, legal, or social assistance purposes.
- To be informed about the legal procedures derived from the criminal act.
- To be informed about the available services to address the needs arising from the crime.
- To have access to a free orientation and counseling service for themselves and their family, provided by qualified personnel.
- To have free access to the following services:
- Examination and treatment for the prevention of venereal diseases, including HIV/AIDS.
- Examination and treatment for physical and emotional trauma.
- Collection of medical-legal evidence.
- To be informed about the possibility of accessing compensation for the damages caused by the crime.
