Orthopedic Specialist / Foot and Ankle Subspecialty / Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction (External Fixation)
Dr. José Roberto López Cadavid is a Medical Doctor and Surgeon graduated from the Pontifical Bolivarian University of Medellín in 1991. He is also an Orthopedic Surgeon and Traumatologist from the same institution, graduating in 1998. He has been affiliated to the Campestre Clinic since its inception in February 2006.
At this institution, he specializes in the evaluation and management of traumatic and non-traumatic foot and ankle diseases or problems. He also diagnoses and manages surgical and non-surgical musculoskeletal trauma events in general.
Dr. López Cadavid has also been workings as an orthopedic surgeon and traumatologist at the Pablo Tobón Uribe Hospital in the same city since 1998. He has been a member of the Foot and Ankle module since its establishment in that same year, as well as the Limb Lengthening and Deformity Reconstruction module with an emphasis on leg, ankle, and foot problems.
Simultaneously, he has been part of the group managing all kinds of musculoskeletal trauma, with a focus on the leg, ankle, foot, pelvis, and acetabulum. Prior to joining the Campestre Clinic, he worked at the Vegas Clinic and the Rosario Clinic in the city of Medellín since 1998.
In 2001, he received training in the foot and ankle trauma pathologies management and surgery in the United States as a visiting Fellow in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and the Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. In 2005, he was again a Fellow at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
In 2002, he trained in the management of external and internal fixation for limb lengthening and deformity reconstruction in children, adolescents, and adults at the Rubins Institute, Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. He is a professor in the Foot and Ankle module, focusing on limb lengthening, and deformity reconstruction, for the the residents at the Pontifical Bolivarian University and has been a national lecturer on the subject.
