Dr. Carlos Eduardo Afanador Bayona is a Medical Doctor and Surgeon graduated from the Pontifical Bolivarian University of Medellín in 2007. He is also an Orthopedic Surgeon and Traumatologist from the same institution, having graduated in 2012. Between 2015 and 2016, he underwent training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Santa Fe Foundation in Bogotá.
In 2016, he received specialized training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Nebraska (Dr. Philipp N. Streubel), Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana (Dr. Felix H. Savoie III), and Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota (Dr. John W. Sperling). In 2017, he trained at the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre Chief of Surgery, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, London, Ontario (Dr. Graham J.W. King), and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, University of Washington, Seattle, Washington (Dr. Frederick Matsen III).
He joined the Campestre Clinic in 2013, working as an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Priority Consultation department, and since 2022, he has been an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Elective Consultation department, specializing in Shoulder and Elbow.
