Orthopedic Specialist / Orthopedic Oncology Subspecialty
Dr. Alejandro Ras El Abiad Mejía is a Medical Doctor and Surgeon graduated from CES University in 2009. He specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Antioquia in 2016.
He worked as a general physician at Pablo Tobón Uribe Hospital in 2010. Later, he joined the Campestre Clinic, where he worked as an Orthopedist and Traumatologist in 2016 and 2017. After that, he pursued a subspecialization in the city of Bogotá at the National Cancer Institute in collaboration with the Nueva Granada Military University during 2017-2018. In 2018, he completed an observer internship at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
Since his return as a subspecialist, he has been working at the San Vicente Hospital Foundation in Medellín and its branch in Rionegro, San Vicente Foundation Specialized Centers. In the latter, he established the Orthopedic Oncology service. He also created the Orthopedic Oncology services at IPS University – León XIII Clinic and SOMER Clinic in Rionegro.
Dr. Ras El Abiad has continuously pursued professional development by attending various congresses, seminars, and international courses. This has allowed him to stay constantly updated. He is also committed to training residents specializing in Orthopedics by participating as a lecturer in some courses.
