Dr. González completed his medical studies at the Pontifical Bolivarian University (1996) and his postgraduate studies in Orthopedics at the University of Antioquia in Medellín (2001). He began his professional work in Orthopedics at the San Vicente de Paúl Hospital in Medellín and the San Rafael Hospital in Itagüí for 5 years, focusing mainly on traumatology. His interest in hand pathologies arose during his training period when he conducted his thesis on wrist fractures (distal radius).
In 2004, he pursued further training in hand surgery in Spain, at the San Carlos Clinic Hospital in Madrid and the Kaplan Institute in Barcelona. Since then, his orthopedic practice has mainly focused on hand and upper limb pathology.
He joined the Campestre Clinic since its foundation, where he has been practicing as a hand surgeon and providing support to the orthopedic emergency service. Additionally, he has promoted academic activities through the “Hand Surgeon Friends Group,” which brings together like-minded surgeons, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. He has conducted 2 research studies on hand-related topics at the clinic, one of which was awarded as the Best Research Study at the CES University in Medellín.
